Most Pet Essentials stores stock the “Topflite” birdseed.   “Topflite” birdseeds are grown in New Zealand and NOT heat treated (apart from a few not available in New Zealand).

Most of the imported seeds have to be heat treated before they are brought into the country and because of this they do not have sufficient nutrient values in them. Therefore birds tend to flick the seed away. Most of our customers have noticed the improvement when changing from imported brands. Also available is a range of rabbit, guinea pig, chinchilla, rat and mouse foods.
